‘Resolution is the perfect time to spend with God. It is well planned, it’s relaxing, praying and hearing about other people’s work and being topped up in God and worship, without using up a whole weekend.’
Resolution is an annual youth workers’ retreat run by Thrive, giving youth workers the space and time to reflect on their ministry and rejuvenate their own faith.
Often serving in youth ministry can come at the expense of your own relationship with God. With so many things on the to-do list, so many demands, and less time to spend on communal worship and teaching, it’s hard to find time to spend with God.
This year’s Resolution focused on that issue: the challenge of not letting our work for God outweigh our worship of God. The retreat took place in February at The House of Bread near Shipston-on-Stour. 10 leaders were there, including schools workers, youth workers and children and families workers.
Over the two days, there was plenty of time for private retreat, and for small group discussion and prayer. One person told us: ‘Resolution has enabled me to develop rhythms of life that allow me to be healthy and in tune with God.’

- For those workers in their churches and schools to keep finding time to nurture their relationship with God.
- Thanking God for the faithfulness of those in youth work, and ask that the young people they work with will be receptive to their teaching.
