How you can help churches improve their children’s work

children drinkingIt’s a simple truth that, in order to work with young people in churches, there must first be some young people in those churches.

Through conversations with church leaders throughout Warwickshire, Andy and the Thrive trustees recognised churches are losing their young people before they can thrive for Christ. These churches would love to work with Thrive to develop their youth work but, sadly, they do not have any young people in their churches. They have a children’s ministry, with junior churches and Sunday schools each week, but these children drift away as they get older.

It is clear more needs to be done to help young people remain rooted in their faith so they can go on to fulfil their potential as disciples, as leaders.

Thrive is now seeking funds to appoint a Children’s Ministry Adviser who can work with churches to develop their children’s work, and give children the opportunity to grow into young disciples in churches where Thrive can make a significant impact.

To make this happen, Thrive needs your support to double the number of regular donors who currently give to our work. By setting up a regular donation to Thrive, you can help children to continue to grow in the Christian faith and, through the work of Thrive, to go on to become strong disciples and leaders into their adult life.

Please can you give a monthly donation to Thrive? Regular donations allow us to plan our work and remain sustainable into the future. £25 a month, or any amount you feel able to give, will go towards enabling the ministry of Thrive to grow, and helping more young people to remain in the Church.

And, what’s more, Scripture Union has agreed to offer some matched-funding for new regular donations. This means that, whatever you decide to give regularly, Scripture Union will also give the same amount to Thrive until March 2016.
