24 hour sponsored walk raising money for Thrive

Thrive depends on individuals and local churches for financial support. This can be very difficult sometimes and the bank balance can get tight! From time to time, we try and do a sponsored event to help raise Thrive’s profile, and to try and raise extra funding. Thrive’s Children’s Ministry Adviser, Fiona Stutton, is doing such a challenge and would love for you to support her. Read on to find out more…

On the evening of Friday 17th November, Jo Roberts, the children’s worker from Kenilworth Methodist and I, will be taking on a challenge.  We will be setting out on a 24 hour walk to raise money for Thrive Youth Ministries.  As the children’s adviser for Thrive, I work with churches across the area of Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Coventry and Rugby.  Therefore, the idea came to walk to as many of these churches as possible in 24 hours.  We haven’t yet planned our route, so if you would like us to visit your church – do let us know.  Hot drinks served would be gratefully received, especially at 3 am!!

For those of you who know me, I detest the cold – I wear a coat indoors, so being outside in the cold will be the biggest challenge for me, not to even mention the walk itself!  Please pray for safety and energy and a mild, dry day and night.

I will be doing this walk to support a great charity.  Having seen the difference that Thrive’s training and support has made across various churches in the area, I know that every step we take will be worth it!
